Frozzys® – an innovative brand that places emphasis on the need for dog treat products to be both great-tasting and nutritionally supportive – has had roaring success at this year’s PetQuip Awards. Frozzys entered into two categories this year: Product of the Year (food/treats) and Innovation in Lockdown. It was awarded first (gold) and third (highly commended) places respectively.
The ‘Product of the Year’ submission saw Frozzys’ debut product range – Frozzys Lickable Frozen Yogurt – leap to victory with a specific focus on the range’s rebranding, market repositioning and sales growth. Originally launched in 2013, Frozzys Frozen Yogurt a natural nutritious treat rich in vitamins and minerals, low in calories and available in perfectly portioned tubs. It is designed to take time to eat, to prolong enjoyment and keep dogs mentally stimulated, and its frozen nature helps to keep dogs cool. Following its initial launch, the Frozzys team went on to execute an extensive market research project to identify key trends, markers and buying patterns of consumers across the UK. After heavily analysing and interpreting the results, Frozzys invested in a rebrand, redesign and relaunch of the frozen yogurt range in order to even better appeal to the market. The project was hugely successful, and this was reflected in the sales growth Frozzys experienced.
Frozzys Superbites – Frozzys’ latest new dog treat range with a focus on digestive health – was ‘highly commended’ in the ‘Innovations in Lockdown’ category for its clever innovation, positioning towards digestive health and clear packaging communications. The Superbites range was developed in 2020’s Covid-19 lockdown period, in response to growing consumer demand for foods and treats that support canine digestive health. Containing probiotics to help rebalance the gut microbiome, Frozzys Superbites are made from 100% natural ingredients, free from grains, and rich in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, which provides the optimal balance of nutrition and great flavour for dogs.

The PetQuip Awards event – now in its ninth year – is organised by the International Trade Association of Pet Equipment Suppliers and takes place at the national PATS Telford exhibition. Recognised as the most prestigious pet industry awards event in the UK, the competition is always fiercely high, and year-on-year, the judges comment on the exceptional number and quality of the entries. This year, PetQuip Awards returned which allowed all attendees, finalists, winners and industry experts to celebrate their awards together.
